Dr. Michael T Williams, has been fortunate enough to serve students from diverse backgrounds and levels of functioning for over twenty-five years. My service experience includes entrepreneurial, administrative and instructional positions with public and private agencies serving economically, behaviorally, and socially challenged youth and their families. With service as a school counselor, I was able to assist students explore, discover, and post- secondary training opportunities to equip them with the skills necessary to turn their interest into a successful and productive career. In my capacity as an administrator in a charter school, I was able to assist teachers develop instructional strategies necessary to meet the diverse academic needs of their students. Additionally, I assisted with mediating conflicts between students, parents, and/or teachers, recruiting and retaining quality instructional staff, and educating the community about the services offered in our school to aid parents make an educated choice regarding the academic placement of their child. As an entrepreneur, I was able to develop, market and implement a community -based counseling program which served youth who were at risk of being placed out of the home due to behaviors or legal infractions.I have served as a special educator in an urban school district where the overwhelming majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. As a collaborative or inclusion teacher, I differentiated instruction for my students, to ensure that they have adequate access, to a free and appropriate public education. In my case management duties, I was responsible for developing their IEP, facilitating IEP meetings, and ensuring that they are receiving the accommodations as highlighted by their IEP as it relates to their area of disability. As the Title 1 Instructional Coordinator within a correctional education organization,I assist teachers develop
and implement strategies to serve low functioning students, collaborate with community providers to link offenders with services and resources upon their release from the facilities, facilitated workshops on best practices to serve low achieving students, maintained relevant data and documentation for monitoring and compliance standards, provided intervention and support for administrators, faculty, and staff, tracked proficiency and progress of students who are enrolled in Adult Basic Education HSE/GED program, collaborated with the community college and other external partners to facilitate continued service delivery for offenders upon their release from the facility. Additionally, I have utilized a variety of instructional strategies which have proven successful for my students. These strategies include: Think, Pair, Share to encourage brainstorming and collaboration amongst the students; stations to introduce or review concepts which have been covered in class; graphic organizers to aid students organize their thoughts; flashcards and tiles as both investigative and summative utilities along with several other strategies. Furthermore, teacher observation, evaluation, and correction have been a part of my duties This has included the pre-conference to apprize the teacher of the components of the observation, the observation to
review the results. I have aided teachers develop portfolios necessary to showcase their artifacts as it relates to the competency areas reflected on their evaluation. In an effort to engage our stakeholders as partners in this process, I have collaborated with teachers, students, parents, and other caregivers to design comprehensive educational, and psychological programming to meet the varied needs of my students. If afforded the privilege of serving these students, I will do my best to assist you in your effort to produce future ready citizens who have the social and educational skills necessary to make a positive impact on society After successfully defending my dissertation entitled “The Impact of Response To Intervention Services On Referrals To Special Education”, the Doctorate in Education Leadership from Cambridge College will be conferred in June 2020.

Genesis II Community Outreach Services
Genesis II Community Outreach Services will serve as the outreach arm of Doc Williams One. Our outreach program will be strategically positioned to assess, address and correct the physical, fiscal, and educational needs of our community. As an affiliated non- profit entity, Genesis II will provide countless persons with a new beginning and fresh start in life through the following programs.
